Deposition process of ash particles on the heat transfer surface mounted in the high temperature gas-solid suspension flow duct was observed. The deposited layer is shed cyclically. In the case of no temperature difference between the flowing gas-solid suspension and the heat transfer surface, the decay process is quite cyclic and the most of deposited layer is shed at once. On the other hand, when there exists a large temperature difference between the suspension and the heat transfer surface, some port of deposited layer are rid of decay. In the decay process, large shedding and small shedding is occurred successively. The conventional studies have been shown that the temperature difference or temperature gradient effects on the capturing process. However, it is considered that the temperature difference or gradient is acted to enhance the bonding between particles and particle-to-wall in the deposited layer.
