<原著>器官培養法を応用したラットDMBA乳癌組織のホルモン感受性に関する実験的研究

Estrogen receptor is an excellent index for the hormone dependence of mammary tumor. The hormone therapy, however, was effective in only 60% of the patients who showed positive estrogen receptor. In this paper a new index was investigated by using the tissue culture of DMBA-induced mammary tumor in Sprague-Dawley rats. The new index, named hormone sensitivity profile, reflected hormonal effects of 17β-estradiol, progesterone and prolactin on the tumor tissue. The detective rate of the responder to the hormonal therapy by the new index was almost the same with the estragen receptor. On the other hand, there were significant differences in characteristics between these indicies : Hormone sensitivity profile specifically reflected the hormone effect of prolactin and estrogen receptor specifically reflected the hormone effect of estrogen. By using these indicies in combination these tumors could be divided into three groups. These three groups well corresponded in effectiveness of ovariectomy to the rapidly regressive type, no change type and progressive type groups of rats.
