Effect of agricultural chemicals on microorganism was investigated to evaluate ecological effects on the enviroment. Bactericidal effects of these agricultural chemicals on microorganism were investigated. Four bacterial species isolated from rivers set up as standards for determination of anti-microbial effevts of the agricultural cheicals. The method of antibiotic sensitivity test was employed in this study. Most of the chemicals examined in this study showed anti micrlbial effects. Not only fungicides, but many of pesticides showed bactericidal effects as well. The bactericidal effects of these chemicals depended on the bacterial species. Most of the fungicides showed effects of fungicide on the yeast C. albicans. Among fungicides, there were some chemicals that showed a greater bactericidal effect on non-01 V. cholerae than fungicide effect on C. albicans. Pesticides especially showed a fungicide effect on C. albicans. On the other hand, some herbicides displayed a bactericdal effect partibularly on non-01 V. cholerae. There findings suggest that agricultural chemicals show marked effect on the ecosystem of microorganisms.
