• The curriculum in Japan has been studied from the various points of view. I am sure both "syllabus" which had been commonly used pre-World War II in Japan and the "Guide Book" concerning Course of Study by the Ministry of Education are the essential terms in studies of education. But we can't find in "The encyclopaedia of curriculum" published in 1983,Shogaku-kan. So I'll try to clarify more about the structure of the curriculum in Japan from this point of view. This article is one of the basic works to research for the study of the curriculum in Japan.
