It has been required for kinematical analysis of human movement to measure muscle contractile force. In principle, agonist acts as an active force generator and antagonist acts as a passive force generator similar to a spring. The joint torque is the torque summation of these forces. It is possible to know the exact relation between joint torque and muscle force, if both active and passive muscle force are measured. The electrical myogram (EMG) has been the only method to estimate the muscle force in motion. As EMG is the signal generated by muscle active contraction, it does not relate passive force. The tissue electrical impedance can be the answer of the problem to measure a passive force because it is regarded to be affected by any tissue condition changes involving muscle contraction. The relation between electrical impedance and active muscle contractille force was studied. Tough some problems are still remained, it can be said that the response of electrical impedanse is exactly coinsides with muscle contractile force. Further studies on the relation between impedance and passive muscle force should be done.
