In the article, switchover of power sources is applied to start a battery powered system safely. An experimental apparatus borne by a balloon is a battery powered system, and the system is turned on at a launching site before a flight. When batteries electrify the system, the batteries suffer the shock of the rush current and the system is liable to latch-up due to CMOS ICs. Further the shock might result in power failure during the flight. So auxiliary power supplies are introduced to electrify the system. Then power sources of the system are switched over from the auxiliary power supplies to the batteries. After the switchover is completed, the auxiliary power supplies are disconnected from the system and the batteries supplies the system with electricity.
