To discuss effects of Ni/SiO_2 catalyst preparation methods and the support on hydrocracking of n-C_5H_<12>, the reaction were carried by pulse injection method at 300-200℃. The supports with the different pore radius and calcined at 300-800℃ were used. The catalysts were precipitated with or without urea (the former is called "urea method catalyst", and the latter "impregnation catalyst"). Those were reduced at 400℃ in hydrogene. The activity of urea method catalyst was 10,000 times higher than that of impregnation one. The effect of support on the activity was not observed on the catalyst with the different pore radius, but the activity on urea method catalyst decreased as the pore radius was bigger and as the support was calcined at higher temperature. The products on impregnation catalyst was almost CH_4 and C_4H_<10> at the very low activity. The higher activity the catalyst had, the richer CH_4, C_2H_5 and C_3H_8 were. On the urea method catalyst the same behavior was observed, but C_2H_6 was rich instead of CH_4. These effects were explained by the homogeneous deposition of nickel on the urea method catalyst.
