• In this paper, transforming the Rieke diagram of oscillator into a convenient form for a travelling wave analysis, we discuss the stability and the noise of an injection locked oscillator. We clarify where an operatint point is located on the Rieke diagram, and how an input noise wave changes into an output noise wave interacting with a carrier wave. Then we explain the magnitude of an output noise wave graphically on the Rieke diagram. When the analytical results applied to tunnel diode oscillators. it agrees well with the experimental result.
