Measurements have been made of the electric conductivity of the mixed electrolytes containing metal salt plus free acid (sulphuric acid) and metal salt plus conductive salt (ammonium sulphate). Electric conductivity of the solutions increases with the addition of metal salt in the range of lower concentrations of the free acid or the conductive salt, but decreases in that of higher concentrations. The addition of metal salt to the acid solution causes i) an increase of the conductivity by the migration of the added salt ions according to Stokes' law, and ii) together with it a decrease of it because of the disturbed movement of H^+ ions by the hydration of added salt ions and by the decrease of water concentration. Similarly, the addition of metal salt to the conductive salt solution causes i) an increase of the conductivity for the same reason as above, but ii) with it decrease of it by the viscosity effect. In both systems the effect i) is stronger than that of ii) only in the range of relatively smaller concentration of the free acid or the conductive salt, and reverse in other cases.
