ラットの右アキレス腱を切断し, ヒラメ筋及び腓腹筋に筋萎縮をおこした。これらの筋肉の細胞構成脂質の脂肪組成の変化を手掛りとし, 筋肥大時の細胞構成脂質の質的役割を検討した。1. アキレス腱切断後2週目にはヒラメ筋, 腓腹筋の筋重量が低下する。しかし, ヒラメ筋の萎縮は腓腹筋より大きかった。2. アキレス腱切断後3週目では腓腹筋重量の回復がみられたが, ヒラメ筋にはこのような回復はなかった。3. 腓腹筋ではカルヂオリピンの脂肪酸組成(パルミチン酸の上昇, リノール酸の低下)に変動が認められたが, 他の燐脂質の脂肪酸組成には全く変動がなく, 3週目にはほとんど回復していた。4. ヒラメ筋では2週目にカルヂオリピンのパルミチン酸に低下が認められ, ホスファチヂルエタノールアミンではパルミチン酸の上昇, ステアリン酸の低下があり, ホスファチヂルコリンでは, ステアリン酸の上昇があった。しかし, 3週目においてもホスファチヂルエタノールアミンの脂肪酸組成に回復は認められず, ホスファチヂルコリンではリノール酸の低下がみられた。これらの結果から, テノトミーによる筋萎縮はヒラメ筋と腓腹筋とで様相が異なること, さらには, このような状態では細胞構成脂質の脂肪酸組成に変動がおこり, これらの事が筋萎縮の代謝的様相を変化させる要因となることが考えられた。
