This paper discribes the characteristics of free vibration of square plate with multiple point supports on edges. The natural frequency and the mode of vibration of plate are computed by finite element method (FEM) and are observed experimentally. The characteristics of free vibration of the plate are as follows. (1) The vibration frequency of the plate depends on the number of support points. The influence that the number of supports exert on the frequency is large, when the number of the supports is small. As the number of supports becomes large, the influence becomes small. (2) When there are seven or more point supports on an edge, the frequency of the plate differs only within 2% from the frequency of the simply supported plate. (3) In the square plate that the point supports exist on a little inside of edges, the frequency of the square plate increases a little, however mode shape of vibration does not change.
