There are many investigations on the plastic problem of shells of revolution because they are closely related to the analysis and the design of pressure vessel used under high pressure. These investigations, however, are almost all concerned with the problem subjected to axi-symmetrical loads. In this paper the mathematical theory of plastic as it applies to shell of revolution undergoing unsymmetrical deformation is developed for Prandtl-Reuss law. The basic differential equations derived for incremental values with respect to pressure are numerically solved by finite difference method, and the solutions at any pressure is obtained by integration of the incremental values. As a numerical example the plastic problem of a cylindrical shell important in practical use is treated. In the middle of a cylindrical shell, stresses and deformation are expanded with the pressure increase.
