Chemical thermodynamics, enables us to test the consistency of vapor-liquid quilibrium data. As such, a couple of thermodynamical consistency tests are known, which are often recognized to be difficult in applying to almost ideal systems. This seems to depend on the variability of the activity coefficients. To confirm this, measurements were made on the vapor-liquid equilibrium data for almost ideal systems. As a result, it turned out that the activity coefficients of the almost ideal systems had the same tendency with that of nonideal ones. Hence the Herington's thermodynamical consistency tests are applicable to the almost ideal systems. Further, comparison of the two tests were made. Results indicated that the data which were proved to be consistent by the old method were not always admitted as consistent by the new method, i. e., the new method was more effective than the old one.
