When stats lie : The danger of misleading and misreading educational statistics

This article aims to take a fresher, more positive look at Japanese students' language ability in light of a more rigorous reading of the data with respect to Japanese students' TOEFL scores. The paper also argues that statistics can often be misleading, and that educational researchers need to be cautious in their interpretation of statistical information.
