A testing method for chemical shrinkage of cement paste was suggested by the technical committee on autogenous shrinkage in the Japan Concrete Institute. The authors measured the chemical shrinkage rate of cement paste with this method. The factors considered in this research were kind of cement (6 kinds of cement), and curing temperature (5∿60℃). From the test results, as for the chemical shrinkage rate of the cement paste, it was influenced by mineral composition of cement, C_3A at early stage of hydration and C_3S ao the age of ten hours. Furthermore, when curing temperature was higher, this tendency appeared remarkably at earlier stage of hydration.
