Unsteady aerodynamic forces and moments acting on oscillating blades of turbine nozzle cascade with large turning angle are studied by numerical calculation. A finite element method is used to solve the unsteady, invicid and incompressible flow through the two-dimensional cascade. Two translational (normal and tangential to the blade chord) and a rotational oscillation modes are considered, and a parametric study on unsteady aerodynamic characteristics is conducted, and further, flutter characteristics of the cascade are discussed for each oscillation mode. The result shows that the critical reduced frequencies for the oscillating turbine cascades are generally very high when the flow turning angle is large, in comparison to those usually associated for the oscillating compressor cascades.
