• In this paper we characterize the existence oflarge solutions for a general class of porous medium logisticequations in the presence of a vanishing carrying capacity. Thedecay rate of the carrying capacity at the boundary of theunderlying domain determines the exact blow-up rate of the largesolutions. Its explicit knowledge allows us to obtain a generaluniqueness result.
