Deflagration Wave Formed by Ion Beam : Part I. In Slab Target

Structures of deflagration waves in slab targets under the exposure to ion beams are analysed for two cases of with and without heat transfer. The structure of the deflagration wave depends much on the two parameters, number density and velocity, of the ion beam. The heat conductivity affects little the wave strength but has a significant effect on the wave structure, especially for the cases of small beam velocities. Examinations are carried out for the adiabatic compression of the target by using the ion beam.
