Conditions for population inversion are discussed for hydrogen-like ions by means of the CR model. Population inversion becomes more noticeable with decreasing electron temperature T_e. For a fixed T_e, there are an upper bound n_<eUB> for the electron density n_e and the most favorable density n_<eMAX>. The values of n_<eMAX> are about 1/3 to 1/10 of those of n_<eUB>. Comparison with the results observed in He^+ plasma by Sato shows validity of the conditions for inversion and suggests that increasing n_e up to several times as large as the n_e in his experiment (5.8×10^<14>cm^<-3>) will more favor the population inversion between the levels with the principal quantum number of 2 and 4 and between the levels of 3 and 4.
