Cutaneous blood supply is regulated exclusively for the heat exchange of the body. Therefore, microcirculation in the skin is controlled more or less locally by regulating the blood flow through communicating anastomoses, yielding to varieties of exogenous loads. Consequently, both systemic and local factors contribute to the age-dependent alterations of cutaneous blood vessels, that is, the sclerosis of arterial walls and the thickening of capillary walls. Although these alterations appear different, it bears rather similar features once we understand that the aging alteration represents a steady process consisted of degeneration and the following biosynthesis ; so-called "aging" during adulthood represents a steady process subsequent to the dynamic remodeling of the tissue construction that occurs during the pre- and post-natal growth period. This particularly the case for the cardiovascular system that changes dramatically before and after birth.
