This article is a Japanese translation of 4QMIQSAT MA'ASE HA-TORAH (4QMMT=4Q394-399), based on the reconstructed composite text published in 1994 by E. Qimron in DJD X. This document is considered to be one of the most important texts of the Dead Sea Scrolls in term of elucidating the early history of the community of Qumran. Because of the fragmentary character of the texts that were found, the reading of these texts is extremely difficult, in spite of the ingenious work of the author of editio princeps. Since the publication of this edition, a number of studies have been undertaken with the aim of a more precise reconstruction and better understanding of this document. At the same time, different opinions have been proposed by various scholars as to the author, intended addressees and date of composition of the document. Here in this Japanese translation, several of the more convincing or alternative opinions of scholars such as F. Garcia Martinez, J. Bernstein, and others are considered in the annotations.
