• A floristic study of the marine microalgae exclusive of the Bacillariophyceae was made along the coast of the Izu Peninsula from April in 1980 to April in 1982. We have recognized 94 species (including 3,new species) on the basis of specimens both fixed and cultured in laboratory. Of these, 7 species belong to the Cryptophycease, 58 to the Dinophyceae, 14 to the Prymnesiophyceae, 4 to the Chrysophyceae, 1 to the Raphidophyceae, 2 to the Euglenophyceae, 7 to the Prasinophyceae and 1 to the Chloro-phyceae.
