In this paper, the hybrid configuration was made up of the master oscillation fiber power amplifier (Fiber MOPA) and the multistage bulk Nd:YVO4 amplifier. The beam transformation was reported for the first time in the hybrid configuration, and the power scaling whilst beam-quality improvement was finally achieved based on the combined action of the thermal-induced refractive-index gradient and the gain-guiding effect. The maximum 120 W of average IR power was generated at a high repetition rate of 400 kHz with a tunable pulse duration from 3 to 15 ns and near-diffraction-limit beam quality.
