With a new compact magnetic mirror trap, it was demonstrated that the confinement time of 2\times 10^{7} electrons in a simple magnetic mirror can be longer than 40 ms and that electrostatic oscillations of the plasma can be detected with a multiring electrode configuration. Also, a solitary wave was excited and detected for a mirror-confined nonneutral electron plasma. Obtained results suggest that the new compact magnetic mirror trap will make it possible to investigate electron--positron plasmas experimentally, which have never been conducted so far.
