A new three-dimensional disk electrode structure was designed without Cu foil for the anode of Li-ion battery. In this structure, the weight ratio of active material could be decided by controlling the particle size ratio between active material and current collector. 0.6Cu--0.4CoO composite (40% weight ratio of CoO) was prepared by conventional ceramic process. The excellent operation of three-dimensional disk electrode for Li-ion battery was clarified. Its porosity must be lower than 26%, in order to obtain the high adhesion between Cu and CoO particles.
