Electron diffraction investigation of the primary oxide of iron ($\gamma$-Fe2O3 or Fe3O4) produced on the $\alpha$-Fe layer, which was deposited on oxidized zincblende cleavage face by evaporation, showed that the orientation of the oxide with respect to $\alpha$-Fe was: $\{100\}_{\text{oxide}}//\{100\}_{\text{Fe}}, \langle 110\rangle_{\text{oxide}}//\langle 100\rangle_{\text{Fe}}$.
