We develop a novel ring protection architecture for fiber sensor systems. The architecture can perform a reconfigurable function under fiber link failure. Such a reconfigurable function is realized using a ring topology and remote nodes. A linear cavity fiber laser is applied in this network to increase the signal-to-noise ratio of the entire system. The experimental results reveal the feasibility of the proposed architecture. The architecture increases the reliability and capacity of the fiber sensor system.
