The plasma absorption effects on the ion–dust momentum transfer process are investigated in collisional dusty plasmas. The result shows that the momentum transfer cross section decreases with an increase of the electron to ion temperature ratio. In addition, it is found that the plasma absorption effects suppress the ion–dust momentum transfer cross section. The plasma absorption effect increases with size of the dust grain, on the other hand, it decreases with an increase of the electron to ion temperature ratio.
