The density and temporal behavior of atomic nitrogen are measured in atmospheric-pressure N2 pulsed positive corona discharge using two-photon absorption laser-induced fluorescence (TALIF). The discharge occurs in a 12 mm point-to-plane gap with 21.5 kV applied voltage. The N density near the tip of the point electrode is approximately 500 ppm immediately after the discharge pulse. It decreases by 40% in a postdischarge period of 300 μs owing to diffusion and recombination reaction.
