In this study, we propose a new process to synthesize Mn–Zn ferrite, using oxides of manganese and zinc extracted from used dry batteries, and ferrous chloride waste solution from iron plants or electronic plants recycled as starting raw materials. It is found that Mn–Zn ferrite powder prepared by the hydrothermal process from used dry batteries revealed the formation of cubic ferrite with a saturation magnetization ($M_{\text{S}}$) of 58.8 emu/g.
