We examined two methods of TRmodeTM operation on a PP/elastomer blend sample. One method is TR Phase Imaging with TR amplitude feedback and another is TR phase and TR amplitude mapping using the Negative LiftMode method. The TR phase image achieved a spatial resolution comparable to that of the TappingMode phase image. Spatial resolution depends on tip–surface distance. TR amplitude signal was more sensitive to tip–surface interaction than TR phase signal at certain distance.
