Microwave Dielectric Properties of Low Temperature Cofired Glass-Ceramic Based on B2O3–La2O3–MgO–TiO2 Glass with La(Mg0.5Ti0.5)O3 Ceramics

Glass-ceramic materials based on B2O3–La2O3–MgO–TiO2 (BLMT) glass with La(Mg0.5Ti0.5)O3 ceramics were fabricated. The sintering behavior and microwave dielectric properties of glass-ceramic were investigated. All samples can be sintered below 900 °C. In the sintering process, LaBO3 and TiO2 phases appeared as a result of the reaction between La(Mg0.5Ti0.5)O3 ceramics and the BLMT glass. With the increase in sintering temperature, the densities and $Q\times f$ of glass-ceramic firstly increased and then decreased for all samples, but $\varepsilon_{\text{r}}$ presented different variations. $\tau_{\text{f}}$ increased with the increase in sintering temperature because of the decrease in La(Mg0.5Ti0.5)O3 phase and the increase in LaBO3 phase. La(Mg0.5Ti0.5)O3–BLMT ($60:40$, in mol %) glass-ceramic sintered at 875 °C had excellent microwave dielectric properties: $\varepsilon_{\text{r}}=15.9$; $Q\times f=14300$ GHz; and $\tau_{\text{f}}=35.3$ ppm/°C.
