A newly developed nonlinear optical crystal, LiRbB6O10, has been successfully grown by the Czochralski (CZ) method. The major problem in growing this crystal is that it becomes pulverized during cooling after growth. Growth conditions that would allow us to avoid such pulverization have been investigated in association with the hydrous reaction between a grown crystal and the water in it or in the growth atmosphere. The optical properties of a grown crystal are also investigated and compared with those of Li2B4O7.
