We present a method for testing phase characteristics of optical pickup head actuators with subsidiary resonance. This subsidiary resonance detrimentally affects the servo performance of the actuators. The interferometric method employs a simple cube type beam splitter with one diffused surface and measures the vibration response function of the actuator.
