This paper describes a three-dimensional array sonar which gives an equi-bearing resolution for wide-band sound source imaging. We consider the look-direction as the entire half space which is generally accepted as the search region in an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) operation. The array geometry with an equi-bearing resolution is designed by the arithmetic summation of the beam patterns between a reference sensor and other sensors. The performance of the proposed array is examined using numerical experiments.
