Temporal Electro-Instability of the Shape of Freely Suspended Ferroelectric Liquid Crystal Films

The mechanical oscillations of freely suspended films induced by DC electric field were observed by the corona-poling technique. The threshold voltage and frequency of the oscillatory instability under different experimental conditions have been determined.
