A novel data encoding and retrieval mechanism for magnetic amplifying magneto-optical systems (MAMMOS) is introduced in which domain positions are used to encode information. Using computer simulations it is shown that the new method exhibits better power margins at higher densities and performs well on random data sequences. In addition, the new technique alleviates timing recovery issues, and may perform better at high data rates.
