Light Modulation Based on Active-Vibration-Controlled Beam Fanning in BaTiO3

A novel active filter for transmission light modulation based on a vibration-controlled beam fanning along the $c$-axis in BaTiO3 is proposed and demonstrated. To the best of our knowledge, it is the most efficient method of controlling the fanning effect in a photorefractive crystal with a large gain in two-wave mixing.
