The dynamic properties of an arc discharge have been experimentally studied. The arc transition occurs even with a small voltage between two electrodes to form a new arc path which is made by the advance of electrons from the cathode to the anode. And a reignition voltage against a residual current is obtained. That reignition occurs in two different forms. One directly develops to an arc discharge and the other develops through the formation of a glow discharge. Furthermore, we have discussed a condition on which the reignition occurs in a very short time.
