A simplified fast wave coupling theory for a phased dipole array is described with non zero poloidal wave number for the step-plus-ramp density model, taking boundary conditions of fields into consideration. The coupling property looking from the transmission line is also derived since characteristic impedance of the coaxial feeder is, in general, different from the antenna impedance. The numerical calculations on coupling are carried out and compared with experimental results on the global reflection coefficient.
