A non contact temperature-monitoring system was developed to measure the specimen temperature inside a TEM connected to an ion accelerator. An optical fiber was inserted through the TEM column, and an infrared pyrometer was used to measure the specimen temperature. Performance tests confirmed that the system could monitor the temperature range between 150 and 800°C.
