[Object] Color Kanji Pick-out Test (CKPT) which is devised to detect slight degeneration of frontal lobe's function seems to be useful for a preventive screening tool on dementia. CKPT is applied to the elderly who has a public long-term care insurance card. The correlation between CKPT and MMSE which is obtained almost at the same time is examined so as to define the difference between the two. [Method] First of all, the obtained evidence of CKPT is reviewed. The subjects are 70-80 years old people who are cared at the day services. They are divided into dementia patients and others. CKPT score and MMSE score obtained between 6 months are analyzed as the same period. [Result] For Alzheimer's disease patients, CKPT score is zero whereas MMSE score represents the criteria. [Consideration] MMSE is used to examine the criteria of the dementia. On the other hand, CKPT is devised to detect slight degeneration of frontal lobe's function. From the results, it is suggested that deep degeneration of frontal lobe's function is appeared on dementia patients.
