The rooftiles are lifted just before they are dislodged and scattered. It seems that the characteristics ofwind pressure and force on these tiles might be different from those on tiles which are not lifted. In thisstudy, the wind pressure and force acting on artificially lifted roof tiles were measured. The results showthe following: 1) The mean wind force on rooftiles located near the middle of the roof and near the gableincrease with the degree of lift at some wind angle of attack, depending on tile shape. 2) The internalpressure and external pressure on roof tiles change with the degree of lift and the change increases thepeak force on the tiles. The tendency of increasing peak force depends on the wind angle of attack and theroof tile location. In the middle of the roof, the increasing peak force at the wind angle of attack along theridge is mainly caused by the change of internal pressure. Near the gable, the increasing peak force at thewind incident on the corner is caused by the change of external pressure.
