Survival rates after operation for 689 gastric cancer patients were investigated, and following results were obtaind.<BR>The patients having the tumors which are larger than egg size, infiltrate to the serous metastasis to the great omentum, mesentery, mesocolon etc, showed the lower survival rates than the patients having the tumors which are smaller than walnat size, never extend up to muscular stratum and have the limited metastasis only around stomach.<BR>These patients having the smaller tumor than walnat size do not frequently show the specific symptoms of gastric cancer So it will be necessary to do very exect examination while gastric cancer patients will not show any specific symptoms.<BR>Most important things for the early detection of g astric cancer are to establish the method for early diagnosis as well as to propargate the knowledge about cancer, to distribute the cancer detection center and to closely contact with the first-line medical institutes. State subsidy is to be paid for the medical expenses of gastric cancer pati ents.
