• The activities by the middle-aged and the elderly living in suburban communities using information devices and facilities depend more on the human-relation factors (such as neighborhood relations and personal communities) and cultural factors (such as leisure activities and media preferences) than the factors of their attributes and classes. At this point in time, they use information circumstances in order to complement their human relations or enrich cultural activities; they apparently tend to use information facilities to no more than enrich their individual lives, without revitalizing their local communities.
