In this paper, I consider the state and issues of the system of matching cargoes and trucks. Recent development of Information Technology (IT) has many influences on logistics business, especially the system of matching cargoes and trucks, because its important factors are real-time processing of many data of cargoes and trucks. From the viewpoint of social welfare, the growth of the system of matching cargoes and trucks seems beneficial, because it improves load factor of trunks, reduces road congestion, and improves environment. So we need to utilize the system of matching cargoes and trunks applying IT effectively.<BR> Actually many companies have started their systems of matching cargoes and trucks, who are not only logistics providers but also shippers and trading companies etc. But many companies, especially new participants who consider making a profit in the enterprises of the system of matching cargoes and trucks and start their enterprises, have stopped their business. So we can see that it is hard to apply IT to the system of matching cargoes and trucks.<BR> In this paper, therefore, I consider the state and issues of the system of matching cargoes and trucks based on some case studies.
