The addition of Ti less than 1.5% in 0.1%C-25%Cr-2%Mo stainless steel is effective in making fine grains and obtaining higher tensile strength. By Ti addition, corrosion resistance of the alloys for 10%H2SO4 sol. and boiling 5%H2SO4 sol. improved remarkably and corrosion loss in weight of the alloys for both solution was lowered to less than 1/100 of that of rolled 18−8 stainless steel bar. It turned out that precipitates of Cr23C6 were observed in those containing no Ti and that Cr concentration around the precipitate was lower than mean value, but by Ti addition, Cr23C6 dissappeared and TiC and TiN formed.
