The effects of dry reclamation on the adhesive force of the residual furan binder film were investigated. The adhesive force between the new binder film and the residual one was found to be higher than that between the residual binder film and the sand surface. Regeneration of the residual binder film by high speed attrition using rotating wire brushes improved the adhesive force of the residual binder film. Thus sand reclamation to make the residual binder film thinner is recommended. However, treatment which exposes the sand surface is not desirable.
