Compressive tests were conducted on Fe-25Cr-0C-2.2B, Fe-25Cr-2.2C-1.0B and Fe-25Cr-3.5C-0B eutectic alloys at temperatures up to 1073 K. The results show that the compressive strength of all the as-cast alloys was above 2000 MPa at room temperature and above 100 MPa even at 1073 K. The true stress-true strain curves of the Fe-25Cr-0C-2.2B and Fe-25Cr-3.5C-0B alloys show a large amount of plastic deformation, reflecting the iron matrix deformation. On the contrary, the Fe-25Cr-2.2C-1.0B alloy exhibited fracture immediately after the elastic limit. The compressive strength of the Fe-25Cr-0C-2.2B and Fe-25Cr-3.5C-0B alloys changed in destabilization heat treatment, due to the iron matrix transformation, but the strength of the Fe-25Cr-2.2C-1.0B alloy was only affected slightly by destabilization heat treatment. The effect of destabilization heat treatment more or less disappeared at temperatures above 873 K for each alloy specimen.
