Anomalous change in the width of dielectric-loss band for liquid mixtures near and above their glass-transition temperatures is explained by a theory considering the distribution of free volume as in the case of a similar phenomenon observed in polymers. The data on the two solutions, bromobenzene in decalin and chlorobenzene in pyridine, given in the literature were analyzed as typical examples. The results show that this theory can explain the data on the liquid mixtures satisfactorily as in the case of those on polymers.
